Outer

The start of New Orleans didn’t disappoint me.  We started our night off by going out to eat as a class, and the food was delicious.  I ended up getting the crab cakes, but my friend let me try her alligator she got, and that was the first time I ever had alligator.  The restaurant was nice, and it had some really cool architecture.  After we ate we were supposed to go on a ghost tour, but we weren’t able to because it started pouring down rain.  This was kind of disappointing to me, but we cant control the weather.  After we went out to eat a group of us decided to go out to a jazz club.  I wasn’t aloud into the first place because I didn’t have a proper drivers license, which was very disappointing.  I did however get into a place that had music, and I made friends with a bartender and someone playing music.  The band I liked had a guitarist, bassist, drummer, and singer.  I talked to one of the main people in the band and told him how I wanted to get a print (poster) if they had one.  He told me that he didn’t have one on him, but he would bring one with him tomorrow and just give it to me for free.  I thought that was awesome, because one of my things on my bucket list is to see live music in every state, and also get a print.  So far I have liked the trip and I am excited to see what tomorrow has in store for me.

            The start of my trip was fun and exciting. We started by going out to eat, and I went out of my comfort zone and ordered something I hadn’t had before.  I am not a picky eater, but trying something I hadn’t had before at a restaurant is not something that I normally do.  I learned that I need to do this more often, because I loved the crab cakes that I had.  I also tried alligator that my friend had and I learned that I like that also.  I have a feeling that this will be some of the best food that I have had.  After we went out to eat I went out with a group of people.  I didn’t have a proper ID so one of the bars wouldn’t let me in.  This was disappointing, but I went to one across the street and still had a good time.  I am the type of person that enjoys my own company and my alone time.  I would have rather went out with the group, but I wasn’t going to let that ruin my night.  I like to attend music festivals, and a lot of the time there I end up by myself, because I want to go see a band that my friends don’t want to see.  My phone also has a tendency of dying while I am at festivals, so I end up being by myself at least a quarter of the time.  This has taught me to enjoy my own company, and not to be afraid to do what I want to do, even if it means I am by myself.  I have the feeling I will end up doing my own thing quite a bit on this trip due to not having an ID, but I am not going to let that get me down.
