Art

Outer             While walking around New Orleans there is artwork almost everywhere you look.   You can notice artwork in the buildings architecture, the street corners, galleries, and pretty much everywhere.   While walking down Royal Street I stumbled into an art gallery.   I found an artist work that I really liked by the name of Eric Lepape.   I wasn’t able to take pictures of his work, but I was able to view it, and was able to read information about him.   I wouldn’t say this was my favorite art that I saw the whole trip, but it was for when I went to galleries.   I would say my favorite artwork I saw would have been in the St. Louis Cathedral.   When walking into the St. Louis Cathedral everywhere you looked was beautiful.   I especially liked the ceiling mural, the stained glass, and everything honestly.   I also really enjoyed just walking around and looking at all the artwork at Jackson Square.   There was artwork all over the fence, and I even talked

Music

Outer             I have listened to many different kinds of music on this trip ranging from street performers using all horns, paint buckets as drums, cover bands, bluegrass, and jazz bands.   It is hard to say that I had one true favorite musical experience; I liked all of them that I had.   I made new friends at a few of the places that I went to, and we swapped information and said if we are at the same music festivals over the summer we will need to meet up.   I really enjoyed seeing this band that would do covers named the Legends, but they weren’t my favorite.   I did like their take on doing covers though, because they would add in a lot of improvisational jams.   I think that my overall favorite would be when I went to see some jazz.   They had a nice smooth way of playing, and it really drew my attention in.   The most fun I had seeing music would have been the last night of the trip.   I was with my friends up until dinnertime, and then I went and did

Outer (had posted in pages first)              For my favorite part of the French quarter I chose to go to the corner with a balcony.    I felt like this was a great place to just go outside and relax for a little bit while still getting a view of the city.    I went up there and hung out by myself for a little while, and I was entertained the whole time.    I will very much so miss the French Quarter, the nights I spent there were some of the most fun I have had since my last music festival (7 months).    Seeing live music is one of my favorite things to do, and the music scene there beat all of my expectations.    I fully plan on coming back; I liked this city more than any other I have been to.    I have a group chat with my friends that like to see live music, and we have already been talking about making a trip out there.    I would describe New Orleans as a nonstop party, full of love.    It is a city that knows how to entertain, and if you get bored there then that’s on you

Outer                          Today for my free day I had a blast!    I started it by going out to Jackson Square with Holly, Ashley, Kim, and Cassie.    We just walked around and did whatever we felt like.    After lunch Cassie and Kim stayed out with me, but the other two girls went home.    I knew Cassie and Kim before this trip, but we never had hung out outside of school before the trip.    I was glad that they stayed out with me, because we had a good time.    It got to the point where we were just walking around aimlessly and going to whatever caught our eye.    I was glad that we did this because it is nice to have time where you are just walking around doing whatever you want.    At dinnertime we met back up with Holly and Ashley.    Holly and I decided to split a seafood platter, and we had a ton of food left over.    The girls decided to go back to the hotel, so I went out by myself.    I aimlessly walked around going to whatever bar had good music coming out of it.

Outer (had posted in pages first)              Today we went to the Cabildo and the Presbytere museums and saw many interesting things.    I thought that both of these exhibits had interesting things to offer, but I personally liked the Cablido better.    We went to the Presbytere first, and it had a lot of interactive devices with this exhibit.    You could click on buttons and learn about what you were looking at.    The thing I liked most about this museum was their exhibits on hurricane Katrina and Mardi Gras.    I feel as if this museum did a good job of showing you what it was like for the people directly impacted by it.    It can be hard to put yourself in someone’s shoes but they did a good job of it through their displays and a video that they had.    They also had a lot of Mardi Gras dresses to look at, which was interesting to see.    Although I liked going to the Presbytere, I enjoyed the Caildo better.    They had a lot of interesting weapons on display, such as a can

Outer                Today we had gone to the Old Ursuline Convent, St. Louis Cathedral, and then on a cuisine tour.    My favorite parts were going to the St. Louis Cathedral and the cuisine tour.    What I liked most about the Old Ursuline Convent and St. Louis Cathedral were just looking at the architecture and beauty of them.    The Old Ursuline Convent had a beautiful mural on the ceiling, beautiful stained glass, and beautiful detail to everywhere you looked.    While looking at the stained glass there was one part that was black and white.    He told us that it was originally painted but someone made the mistake of cleaning it (Oppps).    When we went to the St Louis Cathedral I thought that was even prettier.    They had spared no expense when it went to making that.    I thought it was interesting hearing what the tour guide had to say about the Arch Bishop and the crest that they had. She said that part of his crest would have also been from the Arch Bishop before him.

Outer (had put in pages and not post)                          Today we went on a tour of the city, and went to the pharmacy museum.    My favorite part was the tour, and I wasn’t that excited by the museum.    For the tour we went by Jackson Square and learned about the architecture of the city.    I thought it was neat to hear him talk about all the different designs and details that went into what we were looking at.    One thing I thought was really neat was when he said that the oldest apartment buildings in America were right by Jackson Square (my dad is a landlord and has owned apartments since I can remember).    I also liked going to Congo Square (the trees there were beautiful).    I thought that Cemetery 1 was a pretty neat experience.    We got to visit the grave of Marie Laveau, as well as the future gravesite of Nicholas Cage.    After we went on a tour of the city we went to the Pharmacy museum.    I thought that this part of the trip was interesting at times, but n
